I was a Non-Blonde Cheerleader by Kieran Scott

I Was A Non-Blonde Cheerleader is about a girl called Annisa Gobrowski who often moves schools, she goes to a new school called Sand Dune High where everyone in the school has blonde hair or has dyed it, even the teachers. As she is a brunette when she walks into her first class she instantly becomes friends with Bethany who has purple hair, black eyeliner and piercings. Annisa is placed into the uncool group by the end of the day because of her brown hair and her New Jersey style from her old town.

Annisa has always been a cheerleader at her previous schools and goes for try outs because two girls got kicked out of the team which the squad thinks she dobbed them in, when she gets to trials she is looked down upon by all of the cheerleaders but one other girl attending trials called Mindy who had been with her when the squad were being mean to her. Soon after Annisa and Mindy get put in the team everyone seems to be breaking up and are arguing, to bring the team back together Annisa decides it would be cool to have a prank war against their rival team but there will be revenge.

From the moment Annisa walks into school she meets the guy of her dreams but then she finds out that the most popular girl in her year and also in her cheerleading squad is his girlfriend. When her brother comes in will he help or make it worse.

This is a great book and is full of surprises good and bad which will make you never want to put the book down. 'I Was A Non-Blonde Cheerleader' is part of a Trilogy also including 'Brunettes Strike Back' and 'A Non-Blonde Cheerleader In Love'
