3 Willows by Ann Brashares

3 Willows is about three girls Polly, Ama and Jo who got left at school one afternoon when they were younger, they immediately become friends and sneak out of the school to walk home together. They became best friends from that day on. Over time, their relationship is abandoned, Polly loses her only friends but is too busy to worry, Ama was smart and had some other friends that were smart too and Jo got lost in the cool group.  They chose to do different things during that summer, Polly baby sat then became glamorous with all her savings, Ama went on a camping trip for extra credit but wishing that she was not there and Jo went sea side and got a job with her ‘cool’ best friend trying to improve their popularity for their high school year whilst falling in love. The summer nearly breaks them apart for good but will it turn out for the best?

This is a great book but it also has books that go before it, but it does not matter if you read this one first but the others need to be in order, The books are ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants’ ‘The Second Summer of the Sisterhood’ Girls in Pants, the Third Summer of the Sisterhood’ ‘Forever in Blue, the Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood’ ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2’ These books are all part of the Sisterhood series and 3 Willows is an extra book that you can read after with different characters and little reference to the other books.
